CHAIR(WO)MAN

The Chairman is the head of GreenEUR. Having a clear vision about where the organization is going and its goals are crucial. It should be clear to all board members what is expected of them and the Chairman is in the position to see to it that tasks are fulfilled and help is provided when necessary. It goes without saying that the Chairman is fully dedicated to the organization and able to fill in any other board position. Since the Chairman represents the organization and therefore should be present at all the important meetings and conferences.

Responsibilities include:

• Chair board meetings.
• Approve all large projects undertaken by the organization.
• Maintain communication with external stakeholders i.e. Supervisory Board, Erasmus facility management, students, EUR staff, Student voor Morgen etc.
• Attend important meetings and conferences.

Essential skills are:

• Leadership capacity.
• Knowledge of sustainability.
• Organization and communication skills.
• Networking.
• Strong command of English and Dutch.

SECRETARY

The Secretary is the second person of the board. If the chairman is not present he/she leads the meetings. The Secretary is always informed about the latest developments and makes sure every board member stays updated.

Responsibilities include:

• Chair board meetings in absence of chairman.
• Take and share minutes of board meetings.
• Set up meetings with the board and supervisory board.
• Recruitment of new members.
• Support the project and marketing manager.
• Take care of the office.

Essential skills are:

• Communication
• Mediating/negotiating.
• Strong command of English and preferably also Dutch.

FINANCIAL MANAGER

The Financial manager is in charge of the GreenEUR's budget.

Responsibilities include:

• Draft the budget plan.
• Keep records of income and expenditures.
• Review large expenses.
• Provide financial overview to the board each month.
• Draft an annual financial report.
• Assist fundraising team.

Essential skills are:

• Excel.
• Precise and neat.
• Strong command of English and Dutch is a plus.

On Thurday 1^st of March, the tree shack was given a new lease of life. It was moved to petting zoo De Kooi in southern Rotterdam where children will get environmental classes and learn about nature and sustainability. To read more about the life of the tree shack click here!
